KSG|GfS supports EPZ in changing the RCLS in the NPP Borssele
January 20, 2016The Simulator Center of KSG|GfS supports the Dutch operating company EPZ in replacing the reactor control and limitation systems by the digital control system TELEPERM XS in the NPP Borssele.
The planned power plant modifications will be tested extensively at the plant-specific simulator prior to commissioning in the plant.
For this purpose the plant engineering will be implemented at the simulator using an emulation solution commonly designed by AREVA and the Simulator Center and then, in cooperation with the digital control system supplier and plant representatives, will be pre-tested by multi-stage test procedures.
Further components of the simulator project are the review of commissioning procedures and operating manuals as well as the training of the shift personnel before the digital control system is taken into operation at the power plant site.
The simulator project has a planned duration until spring 2017. Since 2014 the plant project has been supported on-site by an instructor of the Simulator Center.
To create the preconditions for a pre-testing of the plant modifications the simulator was upgraded with the core and thermohydraulic models Simulate-3R and RELAP5-HD in 2015.
